About Daniel Sturm
I am currently an elected Councilman in the Town of Bethel in Sullivan County, NY. This position includes making important decisions about budgets, hiring, sewer, water, road maintenance, and safety. On January 1, 2008, I will be sworn in as Town Supervisor.
Aside from my Town Board experience, I have been in Management for over 20 years, and have been a General Manager and Training Manager in various capacities for the last 15 years.
I have run successful operations with complete responsibilities including, profit and loss, all accounting, purchasing, property management and maintenance. Most positions have been in the food service field.
I have always been directly involved in hiring, recruiting and
training of employees. I have a real understanding and perspective
of human resources and needs, and have a good record of achievement
in getting results.
II have an Associates Degree in Management, as well as a
Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the State University
College at New Paltz.
What I’ve Done as
Councilman:

Worked with the Youth Board to ensure they have the tools and support to run the great programs that they do.

Helped to protect residents by voting against the comprehensive plan which called for town-wide one acre zoning.

Brought a professional, business-like, detail oriented work ethic to the Town Board.

Helped to secure funding and with planning to construct a Pavilion at our Town Park
